Meet Brittany Bailey of She is Art Beauty
From a very young age, my parents have always supported my dreams, no matter how crazy big they are. I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit and a belief that anything is possible with hard work and a good support system. Life is so short, and I want to create a life & career that I’m passionate about.
I’ve achieved some huge goals for myself over the past few years that I am really proud of. I published my first book in November 2019, released my first song in January 2020, and in 2017 I started my wedding hair and makeup business. Each of these projects has taken a lot of time and effort to achieve, and I have even bigger goals in the works for 2020.
Absolutely not. I think the reason I am so ambitious is because of the challenges I went through growing up. In high school, I was bullied and was almost homeschooled because of it. I received multiple death threats, and it was a really tough season for my family and I. It’s not something that I talk about often. I am a huge advocate against bullying, and a lot of the work that I put out, is because of what I went through.
My book, ‘Kin D.’ (available on Amazon) is about a superhero who fights off the bullies at her school. I hope that children read it and realize that being kind is a superpower that we all have and how powerful it really is. My song, ‘If They Hadn’t’ (available on all major music platforms), talks about how I wouldn’t be the person I am today if I didn’t go through that challenging time. We aren’t defined by the things that people say we are. I want the work that I put out to help others who might be going through the same thing.
I started my hair & makeup business. She is Art Beauty, to make people feel and look their best. I love helping others and everything beauty! I specialize in wedding hair and makeup, but I am happy to provide services for any occasion! I’m extremely proud of the growth that my business has had over the years. My dates fill up quickly! I love the travel I get to do and the people I get to meet. My pricing definitely sets me apart from most artists you’ll find in the Dallas area. After my wedding in March 2018 (shoutout to the hubs!), I realized how EXPENSIVE the wedding industry is. I want to provide top quality services at a rate that won’t break the bank. Every bride deserves to feel her absolute best on her wedding day!
My idea of success has changed over the years. At this point in my life, success is doing something that I am passionate about every single day. I have an amazing support system that feeds me encouragement in everything that I do, and that is so valuable. There aren’t any specific “markers” I am looking to accomplish, because I don’t think I ever stop dreaming. Every time I reach a new goal, I am already looking forward to the next thing. It fuels me to put out work that I am passionate about and help people through my creativity. Money and materials are fleeting and will never define my idea of success.
