Meet Jesse Trotter of Solar Wolf Cosplay
I started cosplaying in 2015. I had just quit a LARP and was looking for something to fill the void. I have always loved wearing and making medieval armor and props so when my then girlfriend told me about cosplay I was naturally curious. My first cosplay was a version of my dark knight from the larp I was playing and well I just built it from there.
Some of my biggest struggles have been my skill set in cosplay. When I started I just had a basic understanding of leather work with little to no sewing experience. Then over the years I got better and grew my skill set. Now I’m working on my first full foam armor set and it’s going really well.
Well as you know my business is cosplay and I’m most known for my work with leather. My most notable characters being my Assassins from Assassin’s Creed, my Jon Snow from Game of Thrones, and my Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher. What I feel that sets me a part from others it that my fans always tell me that I have a very welcoming presence. That they can come up to me and ask questions or get a photo and not feel rushed or that they are annoying me. I try my best to make my fans feel like friends and family so that they can do those things.
I personally owe my success to the love and support that I have received from my friends, my family, and my fan base. I honestly wouldnt be here without them. Believing in yourself and having a good support group is the key to being a success in the cosplay community. As well as being respectful to those who follow you and like your work.
