Meet Sylvia G of On Blast Radio Atlanta
Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan I always has a passion for music. I sang in the choir and played an instrument. I knew every song that came on the radio. My mom called me the human jukebox lol. I was a natural writer…short stories, poems, essay, etc and had a love for ready books. In my late teens my favorite cousin told me I should start writing songs. He had many talents but a rapper was one that he felt I could also do well. With his advice I starting writing raps like everyday. I wanted to pursue a music career as a rapper but the more I learned the more I evolved. I began to see myself as a young entertainment mogul in the making. From there business ideas formed and On Blast, LLC was created. Your one stop shop for everything entertainment related. On Blast Radio, On Blast Magazine (in the works), On Blast Social Media Management Firm, On Blast Media Small Business Consulting, Hip Hop Garage, Amplify the Love, and Heartfilled Muziq.
Our greatest setbacks prepared us for our greatest comeback when you have the proper drive and persistence. To think more of my vision came about as a small girl. Through the years they’ve transformed and grew beyond my wildest dreams. Initially I started with the label, wanting to manage and put out artists. During that process I learned you can’t want it for them more than they want it for themselves. From there I thought the magazine would be the next best thing but it was so much to go into it with such a small budget but a perfectionist mindset. With those disappointments along with life kicking my but I was down on myself. It took about 4 years for me to launch the radio station but it was the right thing at the right time. And I know it will pull the rest of my vision together.
