Meet Angela Webb of Angela Webb Photography
It has always been a dream of mine to own my own magazine. Growing up, I had a lot of single parent household, yet ambitious group of friends. My plan was to tell their story and get them exposure because I felt people needed to hear their story. Also, like any other person standing in the check-out line at the grocery store, I enjoyed the creative images and reading editorials about upcoming people and A list celebrities in magazines. As I was making the decision throughout college of what I wanted to do, photography was just a hobby. I purchased my first camera, as a birthday present to myself, at 19; I never imagined it would lead me to Dallas, TX. I am originally from Monroe, Louisiana. In 2013, I began my journey at The Art Institute of Dallas where I found my niche for fashion photography. I assisted with fashion students preparing their senior portfolios by doing fairly wide production shoots on location or in the studio. It was in 2017 after I graduated that I began to work more with local fashion designers, hairstylist, and wardrobe stylist to create content for their brands.
I have definitely experienced some challenges along the way. During my time at The Art Institute of Dallas, I had access to equipment that allowed me to provide my clients with high quality work. These things included, studio space, lights, editing software, camera, lenses, props, etc. Once I graduated I realized I did not only, not have access to them, but that I did not pick an inexpensive career. It has taken me at least three years and counting to accumulate some of the equipment that I need to provide a high-end experience for my clients. Another challenge that I am currently still perfecting is narrowing down my demographic. When you are an entrepreneur you rarely turn anything down for two reasons. You are gratefully for the opportunity and it puts money in your pocket. As I have grown as a professional you realize the importance of filtering your clientele for the sake of your brand and what you are truly passionate about.
Angela Webb Photography is a photographic digital media service that specializes in corporate headshots, portraits, and brand-marketing. We pride ourselves off of providing a high-end experience from start to finish for all clients. We are best-known for our creative work that falls under our brand-marketing category. We love using color and out of the box concepts to bring visions to life. We help those, no matter the level of their business, advance or refurbish their product. Our process allows us to have one on one consultations to hear and listen to our client’s demands so that we can assist to the best of our ability through collaboration with make-up artist, hairstylist, wardrobe stylist, and videographers to make the experience unforgettable. I think what sets us apart is our creativity and hands on experience. No matter the high-demand in our services we try to the best of our ability to make sure each client is treated fairly. We also go over and beyond and make sure our client’s product or brand is represented taste-fully and professionally. I am proud that we have been on this journey for six years learning ourselves and evolving. We have hosted workshops, done speaking engagements, and recently had our first solo exhibition this year that sold out! The show was a collection of our work from 2013 to 2019. We were able to expose new creatives and potential clients to our work.
I define success as seeing something through. My first milestone in success was graduating college. It was very challenging and I did it miles away from some of my most closest support system. Nevertheless, those near kept me focused and never let me fall by the waist side. In result to graduating with my Bachelors in Fine Arts, I have been able to see the results of not giving up on myself. Starting my own business, being an “entrepreneur” is very foreign in my family. Working for trade, setting my own hours, investing in events and workshops they I may never see any overhead for is not ideal. But putting in the work and making a difference in just one person’s life including those around me, is the true success in all I have invested in.
