Meet Noel Medina of R N Medina Photography

Can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today. You can include as little or as much detail as you’d like.

My photography career all started with me taking a ton of pictures of my 3 kiddos – back in 2014 I had a patient reach out to me & see if I’d was interested in taking pics of her kids- I said absolutely!!! I think I charged around $50 for a sunset portrait sesh. That was the beginning & I have been shooting professionally since then.

Has it been a smooth road? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?

I am completely self taught. I learned all of my workflow & software knowledge from cyber stocking fellow photographers! I could not have learned Lightroom with YouTube!!! I learned also how to shoot manually with RAW format!

Tell us about your business/company. What do you do, what do you specialize in, what are you known for, etc. What are you most proud of as a company? What sets you apart from others?

I consider my style to be editorial & I definitely specialize in outdoor & natural light. I’ve never shot in a studio.

How do you, personally, define success? What’s your criteria, the markers you’re looking out for, etc?

You hear the horror stories of photographers who never delivered their images to clients. I know that the key to being a trusted photographer is consistency. When you give a 4 week turnaround- you deliver those images in that timeframe. Oh, and definitely contracts. To protect yourself and your photography clients,
