Meet Yasha Sterling of Yasha Sterling Management Agency
I was raised in Mississippi by my paternal grandparents. I moved to Chicago to pursue a career in writing, and I did. I started out writing for a trade magazine, and I quickly moved into creating web content. Then, one day, I was given a project to work on the website, and I fell in love! That was 20 years ago, and I’ve been infatuated with websites ever since. As of today, I’ve worked on approximately 48 websites and 7 apps!
No, it has not been a smooth road at all. A woman in tech, specifically being African-American, is an ongoing fight, mainly because we are far and few between. You’re never really truly recognize for your talent no matter how much you try to have a voice. Even today, it’s still a struggle so the fight continues until we are treated equally.
I am the CEO of my own management consultancy, Yasha Sterling Management. I specialize in online presence management, online business management, business technology, and process improvement. I’m proud of my company in that we continually strive to be better and make a voice in technology. We’ve won awards for our work and are continually sought after!
I define success by the difference I make in my client’s goals. If I have completed the business goals that they created, then I’ve done my job. I make sure before the project begins that we have a clear path to the goal. We create milestones and have discussions throughout the project. And at the end of the project, I love when they are “wowed!” I really don’t stop until I achieve that reaction.
