Meet Dallin McKay
When I was 16 I went on a Foreign exchange to Mexico for my Junior Year of High School, and while I was there I wrote a song in Spanish about my experience and how I fell in love with the people and the Culture. A singer from the Celaya Guanajuato (the city I was staying in for my exchange) heard my song and decided to bring me into his studio and record it and he made a video for it as well. People from all over Mexico heard it and began flying me all over to sing for big conferences and at hotels. When I came home to Provo, Utah a vocal teacher there put me together with 4 other guys and made a boyband called Mile High Drive. After a 2 year mission in El Salvador, Belize, and Guatemala i moved out here to LA for music and acting. Ive acted in music videos with PRETTYMUCH, Why Don’t We, HRVY, Polo G, NLE Choppa, Swae Lee, and lots of other artists as well. This year I’ve already released a song in French and a song called “Party On My Own” which started a challenge on Tiktok for people to show how they party during quarantine 😂. Ive been writing for record labels and other artists here and in the Philippines. And this year I’m going to be releasing songs in 5 different languages.
I definitely wouldn’t call it a smooth road 😂 but I can definitely say that every second of it has been a blast. I’ve loved getting to know everyone, I’d say that my main focus and struggle has always been to really get to know all of my fans and followers 😊 one of my goals is to not have any fans and followers, but only friends and family. I really want to try my absolute best to keep that feeling going even when it seems like there’s too many people to be able to keep in touch with all of them. A lot of these people are just the most amazing people ever and I’ve grown to love a lot of them like family.
For me, success is simply being able to do the things you love in a way that makes you happy. I think I have constant ups and downs, days where I’ve succeeded and days where I haven’t quite as much. But in the end it all comes down to whether or not I DID what I love and whether or not I LOVED what I was doing 😊. The plus side is that there’s really no such thing as failure unless you didn’t learn from your mistakes.
