Meet Kaiden Johnson
When I was 4 years old, I went to my mom and dad and said I wanted to act. At first, they thought I was just saying that, but I told them I really wanted to act. I thought I could do what the kids on tv do. So, mom and dad started looking into acting classes, acting couches and how to get acting jobs. Dad found my acting couch, Dennis, who is also a working actor himself. I work with my acting coach, playing in moves produced by him, as well as many other movies, commercials, promos, and modeling.
It has not been easy. There have been times where I am tired or we have had to travel long distances, but I still must do my job. I have also learned how to handle rejection, when I do not get a role that I really want. No matter what, this is what I love to do.
? I normally get roles where I play a younger version of the lead role or am the lead young boy. In my first short film, I was kidnapped and then died at the end. After that, I started getting more roles dealing with scarier situations. Which is okay though because I know it is not real. I have a lot of fun doing them, like when I was in a horror movie and got to watch them put the makeup on the person that played my dad. I am also becoming more known for commercials as well, having done a Cinco de Mayo commercial for a Mexican restaurant and another one for a delivery service.
What sets me apart from others is my commitment. Even though I am young, I work hard and stay focused. Staying focused is something my mom and dad have always taught me. I am also able to memorize a lot of lines, which even my acting coach says is very impressive. He and I will sit down for one or two sessions, and I will have all my lines memorized. I also think my look sets me apart, because people see a cute, young boy and get pulled into what will happen to me and start to feel different emotions.
Success is setting a goal and reaching it. Each goal I reach is a success, something I can be proud of. Each time I land a role and can do what is asked, that is a success to me. One of my goals is to be in a comedy. So, once I get to play a role in a comedy, that will be another success. I just need to keep setting goals and reaching them, and everything else will just fall into place.
