Meet Lillian Khanna of L Khanna Productions
I started my business at 13 years old. I licensed L Khanna Productions, LLC at 17 but by that time I had already served over 30 clients with my videography and media marketing services. At 18 years old, I am grateful for the steps throughout my life that got me here. I went to a local public middle school that was audition only. But it wasn’t like anything you would expect a public school to provide. It had green screens, professional equipment, a fully equipped TV studio, even its own radio show that broadcasted locally. These assets gave me the confidence to start using my talents for organizations. Some of my first clients were nationally-recognized non-profit organizations that turned into private clients and most recently, a very promising entrepreneur.
There have been many years of not knowing how much to charge, how to handle clients, how to be confident in my work, overall not knowing the worth of my knowledge and talent, and 6+ years later I have my moments of doubt but if you feel good about what you deliver, then you’re doing it right. Early on I also used to wait for my clients to tell me what they were looking for but now I realize, they are not only looking for me to create the content but paint the picture with them. Using prompts and examples of work really help them visualize it and in return help from just shooting in the dark with the “vision.” I also think age played a huge factor. Because of my age I think it took twice as much to prove myself but locally I am respected in my field. Owning a business isn’t a destination, it is a journey. I want to let all business owners know that you can’t grow in comfort.
I specialize in videography, especially in capturing the “message” or the mission moments, and compelling productions and media. I am known for “professional quality at high school rates” since my rates haven’t inflated much over the year. I think I am also known for my integrity in the community since I enjoy giving back and advocating for school safety and gun control.
Success is so much more than money. In fact, I think money plays the smallest role in “success.” I define it through the relationships built, the trust gained, the returning customers, and new things learned. If I feel good about the work I put out and so does my client, then I have succeeded and it’s as simple as that. Over the last 7 years my network of clients who’ve become friends or returned for L Khanna Productions services are invaluable.
