I belong to a dynasty of Jiu Jitsu originated from Brazil. I always been an athlete since my young age, from Surfing to Jiu Jitsu. By been an outstanding Jiu Jitsu fighter. I was award with an invitation from the Grand Master Helio Gracie to come to USA and help his sons Rorion and Royce Gracie activities on the UFC. Rorion was the creator of the show, copying what his father was doing for years in Brazil, but transforming it in a much bigger and well planned show.
After 4.5 years helping their business I went on my own venture in the USA. Since that date, I have nothing but success doing what I love. Teaching Jiu Jitsu

I am a huge fitness enthusiast and it has always been a huge passion of mine since starting on my journey in middle school. I fell in love with weightlifting in the 8th grade, it became my sanc·tu·ar·y and place of peace. In the 8th grade my father set up his old school weight bench for me and showed me some essential movements to get me started. My father, Keith Stahl worked a few years at a health club in his early years. After gaining muscle I began playing football, nowadays I enjoy Flag football on the weekends and Pittsburg Steelers games.
I then studied Kinesiology Movement Science at the Pennsylvania State University also known as Penn State or PSU. After graduating, I packed up my car and embarked on a cross country road trip. I was moving to Southern California to pursue my dreams in the fitness industry. I touched down in Venice Beach California where I started training at the world famous Mecca of Bodybuilding. I really enjoy helping people with their fitness goals so I continue to offer my skillset to though in need.

My name is Rommel Villa. I grew up in the beautiful land of Bolivia. Mythology, traditions, poverty, corruption, and family values were part of my everyday life. My interest in storytelling started when I was a kid, creating fictional stories about my family having superpowers, fighting poverty, and corruption in a world populated by magical dinosaurs and llamas. I grew up writing/directing award-winning plays based on social issues I learned at PASCAR, a social organization that educates young adults in HIV/AIDS misconceptions, and LGBTQ+ advocacy. At 18, I served in the military for a year in Bolivia, which was one of the most traumatizing experiences in my life due to the sexist and discriminatory environment.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Systems Engineering, and an MFA in Film/TV Production at USC with an emphasis in Writing/Directing. In the last few years, I won a Directing stipend from Lionsgate-Televisa’s Latinx filmmaker program, received a USC filmmaker grant which funded my award-winning LGBTQ+ thesis film Teddy Mate, which was an official selection at many Oscar Qualifying festivals, and last year I won a Writing/Directing Grant from the Sloan Foundation which funded Sweet Potatoes, my historical film which is a Winner at the 2020 Student Academy Awards.

I’m currently working in the Post Production department at USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where I also teach Motion Picture Editing while working on my own independent projects on the side.

I always knew I was different from my peers. I immigrated to Verona, NJ, at six years old, and the first friends I made were the senior citizens in my apartment complex. Unlike kids my age, they didn’t care if I had a funny accent or what clothes I wore, and they helped me acclimate to American culture — although Mom had a bit of a shock when she realized the people I invited to my seventh birthday party were old enough to be her parents!

When I was 10, my best friend Madeline died at the age of 86. Then Richard passed away a few months later, followed by Albert, and Milly. It was crushing for a fifth grader to process so much loss, and it galvanized me to find a solution to the problem of aging, so I could keep my remaining friends around for as long as possible.

I understand now how complex that question really is, but the desire has never left me to make growing old easier so we can all live longer, healthier, more meaningful lives.

My efforts started small — I got a job at a nursing home in my sophomore year of high school, and kept it until I left for college. I loved working with the residents, especially the ones in the final stages of dementia. They lived in the moment and might not remember who you were, but they never forgot how you made them feel. I even met my future husband while working there. No, he wasn’t a resident, just a young engineer who believed in my dreams.

At college I pursued my interests by studying Biochemistry and Gerontology, while he studied Business. Between us, we developed the knowledge and skills to take our ambitions to the next level. I founded a home healthcare business that enabled dementia and Alzheimer’s patients to retain their independence, while he entered e-commerce logistics. Both companies thrived — mine enjoyed 600 percent YoY growth and employed hundreds of staff, while his grew to a $20M brand with four international locations.

We had the success we’d always dreamed of, but I wasn’t making the impact I’d envisioned and I started to burn out. My work was important, but by the time I met my patients, their health was already irreversibly declining, and the razor-thin margins insurance allowed meant I couldn’t offer my staff the opportunities they deserved to advance their careers. As time went on, the search for a new way of giving back began to consume me.

I decided to sell the healthcare business in order to focus on my original passions. That’s how Qyral was conceived. It’s the culmination of my life journey and experiences, giving me the opportunity to explore the science behind aging, help others to learn about the biological processes we all go through, and empower others through entrepreneurship. And heck, if the byproduct is healthier, more youthful skin — even better!

Long story short, I was a disgruntled cubicle monkey who followed the rules believing they would make me happy. Spoiler alert: They did not.
Realizing that white picket fences are sometimes made of B.S., my inner rebel got woke, broke out of the 9-5, and became a stand-up comic/entrepreneur. Finally, living my truth was addicting – until I went into debt, got burnt out, and fell into a depression. That’s the thing about life. It’s not a straight shot to the top. Even when you’re “following your bliss.”
Along the way, I met and fell in love with my now-husband. Our relationship helped me identify, work through, and recover from some deep-rooted codependency issues as we built a life and family of our own. While I initially resisted the pull of motherhood, embracing it and accepting that I needed some support turned out to be the medicine I needed.
Today, I’m living a life that not only honors my soul but makes me damn happy and fulfilled. And while it took massive debt, two high-risk pregnancies, a hospitalization, and postpartum depression to wake my ass up, I eventually slayed my dragons and wrote my own rulebook. Now I work as a coach helping other women slay their own dragons to wake up their inner rebel and live life on their terms.
