Meet Amanda Lambert of Mandy Rae Photography
I started voluntarily taking pictures for family & friends. Then I started receiving compliments about how good my photos were & was actually being requested to take pictures.
I kept being told I should consider getting into photography, so I decided to buy a decent camera & started watching you tube videos after you tube videos to teach myself. I learned a lot, but I also realized how much knowledge I already had which gave me confidence in taking the next step.
I decided to go for it & made a photography page on social media sites. I started to advertise my photos, offer great deals on mini shoots & gaining followers. It started slow but I kept getting more & more people booking with me. I am so grateful to how far I’ve come with each session giving me new insight, knowledge & skills that I can continue to use moving forward.
If you would have told me 3 years ago when I was starting if I would be where I am today in this business, I would have never believed you. Sometimes its so surreal that this is my life. I truly feel blessed and am so thankful I made that leap of faith.
I’ll be honest, it has not always been a smooth road, there has been many times I’ve thought that maybe this isn’t for me. I have definitely had some rough times. But I feel those times have made me stronger, and helped me be where I am today.
At the time it may not have felt like it, but I take every moment as a blessing. I truly have been blessed with some of the most amazing clients. Some are new, some have been with me from the very beginning. But almost all of my clients have become dear friends of mine, and some are even like family to me.
It may not have always been perfect, and sometimes it still isn’t, but thats ok. Right now with the covid pandemic is by far the hardest obstacle I have had to face. Not being able to currently capture all those special moments in everyone’s lives, has been so hard. But I have kept my faith and can’t wait to be back out there capturing those moments and seeing all my clients who I love so much.
I am a family/elopement photographer. I capture everything from family, couples, newborn, graduation to small wedding ceremony’s. I’ve had the honor to photograph so many special moments in peoples lives. From weddings, surprise proposals, to child births. I love to offer a wide range of options and not fully specialize in one certain thing.
I believe that sets me apart from a lot of photographers in my area. Not everyone specializes in multiple things, and that’s ok. There is still other areas that I don’t photograph. I chose to photograph the things I do because I love them so much. They hold a very special place in my heart and I capture each one as if it was my own session.
I’ve been running this business for almost 3 years now and I believe each year it just gets better and better. I have tons of regulars and each year I get to capture every monumental moment in their lives. Not many get a one stop shop for their photographer, and I love to be able to offer that to my people.
My definition of success is happiness. Being a photographer not only brings happiness into my own life by doing what I love every day, but more importantly, it brings happiness to the lives of my clients. Seeing my clients laughing and smiling while I freeze these moments in time brings a sense of gratification I can’t even describe. To know that I am the one they chose to capture their most sacred, precious and defining moments in their lives in a snapshot is the true definition of success.
