Meet Anthony Fellenstein of Lonestar936
I was born in Amherst, Ohio. Grew up in Lorain and Vermilion, Ohio. I was raised by my mom and Grandparents. I knew my father but never had any type of relationship with him. I’ve always had a love for music for as long as I can remember. I remember when I was about 6 years old standing on my bed performing my favorite song as they came on the radio. Shortly after that I noticed I heard music differently than all my friends, that’s when I figured out I had a passion for music.
I started writing music when I was 10 shortly after moving to Texas in 2000. Cadences, rhythms and just having an ear for music seemed to just come naturally. The whole Texas Culture inspired my word play and vocabulary from Z-ro, Lil Keke, Scareface, Hawk and Lil Flip but the mid-west influenced my rhythm and harmony.
I’ve always felt like music was the best way for me to express myself. I’ve witnessed abuse, drugs and racism all at an early age that continued for years. So being able to open up and talk with people has never been easy but music as always been my way to release my emotions.
I met Legendary Promoter Wickett Crickett after opening up for Lil Keke in Navasota, TX. He took me under his wing and sharpened me up on the the music and business side of the Industry. After a few months of artist development with Wickett Crickett I began to find myself as an artist.
After being apart of three different groups I decided to go my own way and start my own label known as Motion Era Music. While working on more new music, I’m also working on branding my clothing line Motion Era and doing more for my community.
No, there has been many obstacles I’ve had to face to get to where I’m at. After dealing with a lot of racial issues at an early age it took awhile to learn how to deal with social settings. Then getting into the Music Industry pretty much on my own, it was like just into a pool full of sharks not knowing how to swim. After a few years, setbacks and some losses I had to learn the business side. Not knowing how to spend your money: when to spend it, how to earn it, paperwork, contracts I can go on and on, and doing it all yourself was a big challenge for me.
I’m the C.E.O. of my brand/label Motion Era (Motion Era Music). I’m most known as a Recording Artist, but I also direct videos and run my own clothing line. I’m most proud of the fact that I manage, market, promote, book, write, and fund everything independently and while doing my own paperwork, running my own label, copywriting my own music etc. I feel like being able to manage everything myself, my passion, and my drive separates me from a lot of other people.
I define success as being able to work for yourself while doing what your most passionate about to pay bills and support your family successfully and comfortably.
