Meet Armonie Williams of ArmonieJAY
I am a Independent Artist out of Los Angeles, CA. I’ve been making music for about three years now, I use to work at Roscoes and had a friend named Chill who owned a studio so he would let me come and work on some songs after I clocked out. I started making covers and eventually decided that I would try to write my own songs. Now 3 years later I have a EP out with seven songs on it all written by me. It took a lot of patience to get to where I’m at today and I still have a long way to go. I’m just thankful for all the opportunities I’ve been blessed with thus far.
I’ve gone through plenty of emotions , wanting to give up, and asking myself if this is really for me. It’s not easy being a young female trying to get her foot in the door while still respecting herself because there’s so many women out here taking the easy route. I miss out on a lot of opportunities all because I choose to not just be the pretty face full of fun. I know my worth and if I don’t get the respect I deserve then the opportunity wasn’t for me. Sadly a lot of people shoot you down but that’s never stopped me it just made me stronger, it made me go harder! I was taught to make people come to me and that’s exactly what I’ll do. People can’t stop what’s God Given.
I am a singer/songwriter, my specific genre of music is R&B. I recently just released my EP titled “22” with two of my singles on there titled “Worthy” and “Keep My Cool” on ALL platforms. The one thing I am most proud of is being a full time mother and still being able to follow my dreams. Sometimes I’m in the studio writing for 12 hours and sometimes my son comes to the studio with me and I’m able to tend to him and still get the job done. Being able to balance the two is a blessing. Another thing I’m proud of is just always standing firm in what I believe in, making sure my respect is always important. What sets me apart from others is mind set, my humbleness and perseverance. No matter what comes my way I always find a way to stay on top. I don’t let anything stop me.
The last Coach John Wooden once said “Success is peace of mind, which is a direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming.” I agree 100% with this statement. Some people think success is just having a million or a billion dollars in your bank account and though that’s the goal , true success begins with self. As long as I’m at peace , doing what I love to do then I’m successful. Everything else falls into place after that.
