Meet Cyann Ribeiro
I grew up in Somerville MA loving the mirror and the camera just the same. I had mini concerts in the mirror all the time and me and my sisters constantly did photoshoots with disposable cameras in our bedroom. I attended a modeling school when I was 15 and loved it, but decided to wait until I was 18 as to not burden my parents. I spent a few years going back and forth from Boston to NYC for auditions until I was 24 and my agents in Boston suggested acting. I took a workshop with Marnie Saitta from Days of Our Lives, and after hearing her feedback, I decided to move to LA. I’ve now been here almost 10 yrs, just as in love with it as my first day
I wouldn’t say it was smooth. I was young and easily distracted. I focused a little more on relationships, than I did my myself. It’s easy to want to have fun in LA, but in this business you really have to have discipline. In the beginning I went on countless auditions and never booked a thing. But I learned a lot and over the last few years I’ve booked over 20 tv commercials, for companies like JEEP, IHOP, and McDonalds to name a few.
I published a memoir/poetry book in 2018 and it is a best seller on Amazon. I love writing to clear my thoughts a d writing in a journal led me to publishing that book and working on others. I’m also a certified life coach as on Feb 2020. My heart is set on television. I’m working on landing a role as someone’s tough but sweet mom on a tv show as a series regular, or even in a movie. Snag me an Oscar 😉
The dictionary defines success as “The accomplishment of an aim or purpose”
I believe in purpose and fulfilling your purpose. And I also know discovering your purpose isn’t easy. But the markers of success for me are for me to healthy and very happy with whatever it is I’m doing and to have loving people in my corner
