Meet DJ J-Wealth of WealthRok Music
As a young child I always gravitated towards Music & Fashion. I always found interest in how songs were produced and also the story behind the artist. My radio career began in 2016 on a small platform named “Restless Nation Radio” in San Diego , California and within a year I found myself in Hollywood , California on DJ Skee’s very own Dash Radio as the Creator / Host of The Fixxx Audiocast which is a radio show that provides raw and uncut interviews with some of today’s hottest artist in both Music & Entertainment. Music has always been therapeutic for me so naturally the interest in becoming a DJ / Music Producer was a match that was destined to be made. I am 1 1/2 of the production team Wealth Rok Music with Artist / Producer D-Rok The CaliProduk teaming together to produce some of the hottest songs in the industry today.
The road has been full of challenges as well as a lot of lessons learned. Coming into the Hollywood scene is a learning lesson itself that will either make you or break you. Its important to be very secure with who you are and what you are capable of which will help you be able to grow as not only an artist but building a brand that is authentic to who you truly are which will give your supporters a genuine emotional attachment to you and the talent that you are admired. One big challenge for myself was making the sacrifice of driving from San Diego , California to Hollywood for over 3 years to not only record my radio show but also when I am booked to DJ big events as well as going from studio to studio to produce music for artist. This sacrifice alone not only took a lot of dedication but also missed a lot of family events and time spent with loved ones.
My company Wealthy Lifestyle Clothing which I begun in 2013 is a brand that I am very proud of because its a reflection of myself , family and close friends. The brand’s slogan is ” Wealth is in the Heart Not the Pocket” meaning money and materialistic items do not define you but true values are what determines an individuals Wealth. Inspiration for the brand developed from as a child feeling most brands price points only catered towards people with money and not people that may not be in a good financial position at the time. One thing that I noticed also was how brands that were affordable the clothing items were not as appealing as well. So myself and my team wanted to be one of the brands to actually make an effort to change that narrative.
My personal definition of success is being able to do what you love for a living, so everyday does not feel like work but like you are not only chasing a dream but achieving a dream and building that dream up to be a successful brand that is a true reflection of yourself . This can be achieved by surrounding yourself with people that not only push you to be your best but also people that inspire you to be not only successful but a good person in general. That’s true success.
