Meet Jermaine Williams of 425Ent.
My story began on March 3, 2007. I remember that because that’s the day I lost my grandmother. Before her untimely demise we had a conversation with her telling me I will do great things with my passion which was music. At a young age my parents brought me a keyboard. I started making beats and little raps songs with my sister and dad, but that will all change.
Some friends and I went out to a Houston club at the time and saw how the Dj control the crowd and the music that he was playing drew people together. And I knew on that day that’s what I wanted to do. I wanted to make make people happy with the music I played and also uplift the community around me. That’s when I became Dj425 (April 25 being my grandmother birthday) one of the best private event Dj’s in Houston and surrounding areas!
In life, everything you work hard on you’re going to face obstacles. My biggest obstacle I faced was more self-inflicted then anything. When entering the world of Houston Dj’s everyone had their pick on who was the best in city, and at times my fear of not being one of those Dj’s in that conversation made me take the backseat on a lot of things. I knew a great number of club owners and promoters at the time and everyone I reached out to either said “No” or they didn’t want to take a chance on me. As years passed with timeless hours of practice and the motivation of my wife and family I’m here today!
I used my Dj platform and build a company around it and made a brand that I will be proud of. With the help of my wife (Chandress Williams) we started 425Ent. My biggest mission in life is to help others and give them a sense of hope. We teamed up with an nonprofit cancer organization (JfullofFaith) and with them we do many of blood drives and cancer walks a year. To personally giving financial donations, food, and clothing to people in need.
What makes me different from other DJ’s is the way I build a relationship with my clients. The day they book me to the day of their event. I make sure that each of my clients is a priority. I walked through each and every song with them to make sure their event is as special as they envisioned it. Focusing on private events gives me a chance to build a bond with people in a walks of life!
I pride myself on being a honest and humble guy. Never getting big- headed and always putting my clients and community first. What sets me aside from others is it’s not just work for me. I love and am passionate about what I bring to any event big or small. I don’t just talk about it I do and have proved it for almost 10 years!
Success is not about how much money you have or what kind of designer you have on. Success to me is putting the people you value most in a position to make a mark in the world. Starting this Houston’s best graphic designer and photographer Morris Lee (@iloveamp_) and I are doing just that, giving up and coming graphic designers and music lovers a chance to show their talents by working with us. I started my career based on love and a vision with that I changed and helped a lot of people, so until then “I meet you on the dance floor”
