Meet Jessie Lockhart of Jessie Sells AZ
During January 2019, I found myself in a very unfulfilling job and knew it wasn’t going to provide me the flexibility and financial possibilities in the long-term. I started looking at other options and it wasn’t long before I decided to go into real estate. I knew being a REALTOR would allow me a flexible schedule and to make as much money as I wanted as long as I was willing to work for it. I’m also a true Enneagram 2 (The Helper) and love being able to help, empower, inspire, and impact others.
I received my real estate license at the end of March 2019 and wanted to dive right in. There were 3 things I knew for sure: I didn’t have a lot of money to invest right away, I love meeting with people 1-on-1, and I wanted to use social media as a primary lead source.
I’ve built my business primarily using Instagram as a way to build my network, connect with others 1-on-1, and provide value to my audience. I know part of why that’s working well for me is because I focus on building relationships with people FIRST before I mention my real estate business.
Well, after a tumultuous year of establishing a network in a new state, making a lot mistakes, and finally finding the right support, I finally feel like my business is gaining some momentum in 2020!
Absolutely not! I’ve struggled with SO many things, both internally and externally.
For the majority of last year, I didn’t feel truly supported by those around me with regards to how I wanted to build my business. This caused me to constantly second guess myself and feel like I wasn’t good enough or doing the right things. Towards the end of 2019, though, I found an amazing support system who I can lean on.
I’ve also struggled with not feeling worthy of success, not believing in my abilities, mentally beating myself up, staying productive or motivated, and the overall roller coaster that is entrepreneurship.
I’m a licensed REALTOR® in Arizona and my official business name is Jessie Sells AZ but most people just know me for my name, Jessie Lockhart. I’m on a mission to empower and educate first-time home buyers so they can close on their first home with confidence!
Being a first-time home buyer myself in 2018, I understand exactly what roadblocks and myths people struggle with. Plus, there’s just an overall lack of information available to first-time buyers so I’m doing my best to share as much as I can through my social media and blogging platforms.
I’m proud to say that my main focus is to build relationships with others first and serve them as a REALTOR® second. It’s my goal to build a complete relationship-based business where my clients are also my friends.
I’ll be honest, my gut reaction to this question is probably something along the lines of “when I make 6-figures in a year.” But more importantly, success also includes the little victories you accomplish on your way to the big goals.
So, for me, success is when something I’ve said or done has helped someone else. Whether it’s busting a myth for a first-time home buyer, helping a client buy their first home, making someone laugh, or sharing a life hack on Instagram, it’s all success to me. I just love helping people!
