Meet Paula Hughes of Directing Paths
I started the idea of becoming an entrepreneur in the fall of 2017. At the time, my model was more so going after government contracts because that was my background experience; however, I knew that wasn’t ultimately what I wanted to do. I changed the concept of my business 2 more times before deciding to focus on transformational coaching in February of this year. I was at a place in my life where I was facing a major transition in my personal life but I got so much of my fulfillment and healing from helping others. This is something I had been doing since I graduated from undergrad and finally I realized my purpose was being molded to a time such as now.
It had not been a smooth ride at all! I have put more money into my business than I got out and I often had to choose spending time with my toddler or working. Because my business is still new, I work on it after working other full-time gigs as I understand you can chase your dream while taking care of your reality. I’m finally finding my footing!
My company, Directing Paths LLC, coaches individuals who have experienced some form of relationship trauma in the past be it romantic or familial. I aim to provide tools, resources and coaching to help my clients heal in hindsight, re-discover their purpose and understand there is a fulfilling life on the other side of their pain.
I define success as doing the role that is aligned with your purpose. When you operate in alignment, there is a sense of peace and pride in what you are doing. I go to bed excited and full of ideas and wake up feeling the same. This to me is success.
