Meet Rich Parrott IV of Global Money World
I first started as a young adult who loved music. My mother got me tickets to Kanye West Glow In the Dark Tour for my 18th birthday and my Aunt Tiffany with me. It was that night I knew I had to do music for a living in some capacity, so I started my journey by making beats. After making beats and having a hard time getting anyone to listen to them, I started rapping over them just so people can hear it. In the process of that I started seriously pushing myself as an artist. Once I got to a place where I felt I was really good, I started reaching out to blog, radio stations, and magazines to promote my work which would be knowledge that would be really beneficial in the long run. I got placements and finally got to a place where I really felt in ready to be signed. I reached out to every label contact I could get my hands on and for months just sending my music out. Through consistent pressure in reaching out I heard back from everyone the same answer “No”. At that point if I was going to give up it would’ve been at that moment because I just didn’t know what to do. I was homeless, no car, and at a job I hated, and was looking for this to save my life. In a dream I played back of this Jay Z interview of him saying nobody believed in him so he started Roc A Fella. I decided that morning to file my paperwork for my company Global Money Group LLC. From there I hit the ground running, building up an online presence, getting approved to SubmitHub and Sony’s Record Union to my self in a position to sign talent. Within two months I had 10 releases through distribution deals I arranged. In that process I met Quis Christ out of Long Island who was super talented and he introduced my to Billypalmtrees. Quis asked me to manage him and Billy, but I never managed before but that didn’t stop me from jumping at the opportunity. I then was approach by Rebel Kuzco another talented artist to manage him as well, so that aspect really found me. As I kept working with them throwing shows, getting placements, and releases my brother Mike thought it would be a good idea to make a blog on the company website globalmoneyworld.com. I never did anything like that before and I decided to give it a shot covering artist I got through submissions on SubmitHub. It started as something that I would do weekly to doing multiple times a day. After a few months of blogging we made the Top 100 Hip Hop Blogs list, Top 100 Rock Blogs list, and Top 200 most influential music blogs list. With that I wanted more so I started accepting more genres and with that got more opportunities including receiving submissions from every label and multiple partnerships with companies like Leetbuds, Drooble, and Reverb Nation to name a few. Everything has really been like a full circle thing from going to reaching out to labels to being the one sought out for, it’s really surreal but I’m really grateful.
Nothing is ever too smooth. Some of the struggles is just handling everything properly and making sure everything is done right. The bigger everything gets the more it’s takes more care to make sure everything is done adequately.
There are a few different divisions. Global Money Group is the Label and management side that handles the distribution of music.
Global Money World is the most famous side being the media part, where we cover major and indie artists of all genres
Global World Press Agency is the freshest part where we handle promotion for our PR Clients.
We specialise in breaking talent more than anything. Especially present day where only artist who are big get respective coverage, we make it a point to put quality before anything with our blog posts, Spotify playlists, and magazines that we showcase the best artist of today and tomorrow no matter the level.
The thing I’m most proud of for the company is being recognised by the artists as a voice and platform for them to break out and shine, that’s a reputation you can’t buy. Also being recognised as a top music platform on several lists, as well as sports, and fashion are a dream come true.
The thing that separates us the most is that we care. More than anything we just want to do what’s right and help everyone who is talented be able to shine to the fullest.
I personally define success as just being happy and at peace with what you do. As long as you can wake up and do what you love, whether it’s a good day or bad day that’s the ultimate success for me.
