Meet Shree of Meandering Thoughts With Shree
First of all I wish to express my deepest gratitude to Buzz Magazine for interviewing me.
Formally an IT pro with a Masters Degree in IT, I am now a passionate writer, covering multifarious genre and business. Experienced in e-commerce implementation, writing IT documents on process and procedures, quality control and web content for blue-chip companies (UK and India), I am also self-employed as an Online Coach, freelance writer-editor-reviewer and a trained Indian Classical Dancer.
My mother inspired me to write, as she is a writer too. Fascinated by her storytelling talent, as a kid I tried my hand in essays and poems for school magazines. I really loved the experience when my teachers and classmates patted my back with appreciation of my job. That encouraged me to write more. I had been writing poems, articles and short stories in local magazines and newsletters regularly. Finally I decided that this is what I really want to do in my life and I authored my first book in 2015. Since then I never looked back.
It was my honor to be the Quarter-Finals winner of Screencraft Hollywood Cinematic Story Contest 2017. I have authored and co-authored ten books and counting. My work has been published in various national and international magazines, journals, and writing platforms and recognized by the Library of Congress and The World Directory of Literature. I have been selected as one of the 100 Bards of 2019. I have a Professional Certificate in Business Writing from Berkeley University of California and Fundamentals of Screenwriting from the University of East Anglia. My latest milestone is receiving the ‘Author of the Year 2019’ award by NE8x India for esteemed writing endeavors and exceptional contribution to the global literature. I have also received the honor of ‘Inspiring Author of 2020’. I have been invited as a motivational speaker from several organizations to spread inspiration to workers and learners in Houston. I am also one of the pioneers of a Literary Group in Houston. Lately, I have been interviewed by Indie Beacon Radio for all my above projects and milestones. Esteemed magazine ‘VoyageHouston’ has classified me as a ‘Rising Star of Houston’. All my books are available on Amazon author page amazon.com/author/shree7 . If you ask me, I would rather use the word ‘challenges’ instead of ‘struggles’. And yes, there were several in the past and I believe there will be more in the future. The universe challenges us everyday with a new hurdle, some minor, some major. I was born in India, naturalized as a British Citizen and currently residing in the United States. Settling down in new continents, trying to fit into entirely different cultures, understanding the new lifestyles and trying to become a part of the unknown societies are challenges on their own anyway. And especially when I am trying to pursue my journey as a writer, even though I come from an IT background, I had to and still have to put in a lot of hard work!
I began to write because I enjoy the craft. I pour my heart out on the papers as that is the only way I can release the pressure of accumulated wild thoughts in my mind. Nevertheless, gradually I had to learn the technicalities behind this passion and also had to accustom my writing with the acceptable styles amongst the multicultural readers. I have upgraded myself with some writing courses to catch up with the market. In the current scenario, doing anything is extremely tough as there is a huge competition. There are millions of writers and poets and everyone wants to get published. It isn’t very easy to stand out in this situation. Hence selecting the right time and option and setting targets and strategy accordingly, is extremely important. I am a proud mother of three little boys – all of them three years and under. And finding time to write is the toughest challenge for me currently. Still, I use the time as an elastic and find some for myself. And trust me, without challenges and hurdles, no good work is produced. So struggle is the “new enjoyment” for me.
I am gradually trying to make my mark in the world of ‘Authorpreneur’. I named my business “Meandering Thoughts With Shree” for the reason that, other than being an author, I also provide several services that are related to the writing industry. Here are a few examples which I am already doing and wish to expand more:

4) Business Writings (including Social Media and Presentations)
5) Creating Websites and contents
6) Ghostwriting & Screenwriting

All services are of affordable costs and negotiable on the basis of requirements, complexities and urgencies of the projects. Please email to shreeauthor@gmail.com for quotations.
I would also request all book-lovers to kindly read my books and leave a review on Amazon and Goodreads. All my books are available in both eBook and paperback formats in the following link: amazon.com/author/shree7
Good question! I personally feel that success is a relative term. It’s definition varies according to the individual, situation, expectation and satisfaction. I define success as the positive outcome of my honesty, sincerity, endurance and perseverance. I am humbled by the awards and accolades I have received for whatever I have achieved so far. Those are for sure symbols of success. But at the end of the day, I feel successful when I get the opportunity to do what I enjoy doing the most, I feel successful when I am loved and recognized for my work, I feel successful when I receive support and encouragement from everyone to stay focused and cultivate my aptitudes and most importantly, I feel successful when all the above attributes make me feel happy.
