Meet Yateria Pate of Cultivating Photography
I had always had a passion for arts, but I didn’t quite understand where I fit in as a artist. As a kid, I enjoyed taking photos on family events, then only using a disposable Kodak camera. I kept family albums around, and would often bring them out and glance at them to reminisce. I started off wanting a DSLR camera just to take my family photos for vacations and holidays. It was family members and friends that believed in me that I could turn my passion to a business, it was a blessing that I could use my gift given to me from God to make an extra income!
Omg, no it has NOT been a smooth road. I think one of the main struggles was gaining clients, although social media makes it easy to get notice. It takes determination to stay relevant, by posting great content and ensuring that your client(s) has a great experience from start to finish.
I specialize in outdoor photography, I love to take picture in the great outdoors it gives me so much freedom for creativity. I think I’m most proud of how far that I have come in such a short period of time. I think what sets me apart from others is my eye for catching my clients happiness, I love snapping photos during laughs or emotional hugs. It’s so beautiful.
I would personally define success as making a income doing something that you genuinely love. Not everyone has the opportunity to love going to work. It’s a blessing to do something you genuinely love to do.
